El comunicado detall\u00f3 que las inversiones \u201cenfatizaron las \u00e1reas de Energ\u00eda y de Infraestructura Productiva, representando ambas conjuntamente el 71.0% del monto total de aprobaciones durante el 2011\u201d. Se calcula que los aportes del BCIE a la regi\u00f3n durante el 2011 favorecieron indirectamente a m\u00e1s de 12 millones de personas, 16 municipalidades en las \u00e1reas de influencia de los proyectos, directamente a unas 550 mil familias, aproximadamente a 7 mil Mipymes, 2,122 estudiantes de nivel superior y 38 instituciones financieras, seg\u00fan comunicado de la entidad.
