La resoluci\u00f3n fue impulsada por Estados Unidos, Canad\u00e1, Chile, Costa Rica, Antigua y Barbuda, Uruguay, Ecuador, y Rep\u00fablica Dominicana, fue respaldada por Guatemala y otros 16 pa\u00edses; Nicaragua vot\u00f3 en contra y otras siete delegaciones se abstuvieron. Junto con los pa\u00edses ponentes y Guatemala, las delegaciones de El Salvador, Granada, Guyana, Hait\u00ed, Jamaica, Panam\u00e1, Paraguay, Per\u00fa, Suriname, Trinidad y Tobago, Venezuela, Argentina, Bahamas, Barbados, Brasil y Colombia votaron a favor.
